Laughter Left Over Isak Halonen, Seventy Four, Has A Wise Saying For Almost Anything, But He Cant Think Of One For His Cracked Leg, Or His Sticky Memory, Or The Trip His Wife, Elsa, Has In Mind Starting In Ocean Park, Washington, They Head South In A Redone City Bus He Cant Drive, Of Course, With His Leg In A Cast, So Their Daughter Comes Along And Brings Her Children They Stop In Mesa, Arizona, Where Isaks Brother, Harald, Catches Up With Them Oil Has Been Found On Their Joint Heritage, The North Dakota Farm Harald Wants To Sell The Place Now, But Isak Says, No He Proceeds With His Own Version Of The Future And Runs Smack Into The Past This Story, Which Takes Place September 1979 Through June 1980, Involves A Live Volcano, An Exploding Family, And The Impalpable Sense Of Home.
